About

Adrian Legaspi

Senior software engineer with more than nine years building production systems, from fintech platforms to enterprise security dashboards.

About

More than nine years building software people use to do their jobs: internal platforms, security tooling, fintech and operational applications. The kind of software that is judged on whether it holds up, not on whether it demos well.

Currently the sole frontend engineer on a centralized internal security dashboard tool used across multiple teams at Viasat, embedded in a team of security and backend engineers. Before that, fintech features for a platform with 10,000 users, Angular dashboards and Laravel APIs for more than 3,000 legal professionals, and a pre-hospital logging app used by 180+ firefighters and paramedics across 18 stations in Tijuana.

What I do

  • Full-stack product engineering: Node.js and TypeScript services, React front ends, PostgreSQL.
  • Architecture: multi-tenant systems, data modelling, service boundaries that survive contact with new requirements.
  • Technical leadership: tech lead for five engineers on an agentic HR platform, breaking work into shippable slices, code review as teaching.
  • AI integration: retrieval, fine-tuning and LLM evaluation that run in production rather than in a demo.

How I work

I prefer the smallest thing that actually works, and I would rather ship a finished simple system than an elegant speculative one. Most of the value in senior work is in choosing what not to build.

Outside of work I ship games, which keeps me close to the whole product cycle from concept through store review.
