A custom WordPress plugin that turns wp-admin into an internal client and debt management system for a business selling to firefighters.

Context

A business selling equipment to firefighters on credit needed to track clients, payments and outstanding debt. I built a custom WordPress plugin that repurposes wp-admin as an internal management dashboard, rather than a public site.

Built in late 2024, the system remains in internal use today and receives occasional updates.

The problem

The business tracked clients, debts and payments across scattered spreadsheets, with no single place to look up a client, see their balance or record a payment.

What I did

• Built a custom WordPress plugin that adapts wp-admin into an internal management dashboard.
• Implemented the client module: creation, search, payment status, balance and blacklist.
• Implemented payments (abonos), inventory, sales and warranties on the same plugin foundation.

Technical highlights

WordPress as the platform, with a custom plugin that replaces the standard wp-admin experience with purpose-built client, debt, payment and inventory screens, rather than extending an existing CRM or e-commerce plugin.

Outcome

Still in internal use by the business to manage clients and debt, with occasional updates.
